OUR ROBES
YOKES
One of the first major decisions you will make when purchasing robes is the style or yoke to be worn. As seen in the photographs, a yoke can be very traditional or can be customized to fit your choirs need.
Fluting, the gathered material around the yoke, is a very important part of the yoke. ( RVDJ-8 and RVSJ-9 ) Fluting on yoke styles always runs across the back and over the shoulders. The fluting across the front Yoke style is always made with front fluting. Notes that styles are made with fluting around the yoke, accenting the nice round look of the yoke.
Because Ireland Needlecraft uses top quality fluting, robes produced at Ireland Needlecraft will maintain their body and beauty throughout many years of use.
Please note the different uses of cord trims and contrasting yoke colors. The use of these items are customized to fit your needs. Also, all close fitting yokes have either snap or Velcro closures around the neck.
SLEEVES

SJ9 - Square yoke
with Bell Sleeve
|
Sleeves are very important in the design of your robes. The most standard Ireland Needlecraft sleeve is the Dorian Sleeve. sleeves at Ireland Needlecraft are not cut parallel to the ground, but are cut with a rounded flowing drape to complement the quality robe, being consistent with Ireland Needlecraft's goal of producing the very best robe possible.
With the addition of a sleeve wedge, sleeve trim, the Dorian Sleeve can be modified to add that something special to your robes.
The gathered and cuffed sleeve is most commonly used for the director and/or the accompanist, and hand-bell choirs. However, it is not uncommon to see an entire using a gathered and cuffed sleeve.
The bell sleeve ( end in SJ-9 ) Has a nice flow and is fully lined inside.
Sleeve styles, DJ-8 And SJ-9 will add the elegance of your robes.
Please note: (Clergy Robes and Choir Robes only ) that any sleeve can be matched with any style of yoke. Also the different sleeves can be made with a slit for ease of arm movement for the Director and/or Accompanist.
PANELS
Note: (Clergy Robes and Choir Robes only )The use of cord trims and/or contrasting colors for the panels can add a long vertical accent to your robe. made of 100% velvet. Yes, a little expensive but we do offer you this option.
You can use cord trim on the outside of the panels only, or the outside and inside of the panels.
The combinations of contrasting colors for the panels was used in conjunction with cord trims. Cord trims do not have to be a contrasting color.
An important item to mention is that when cord trim and/or contrasting colors for panels are used, in most cases the same combination of cords and colors are used for the yoke.
At this time Ireland Needlecraft would like you to know that not only can velvet be used for yokes, sleeve trims, and panel, but Ireland Needlecraft also makes your elegant robes
CLOSURES
Brass Zipper. The most commonly used closure is our brass zipper. This zipper is very durable and non rusting. Please note the extra piece of fabric at the top part of the zipper. This is a hook placed on all robes to give this area of the zipper extra strength.
Reverse Zipper. The same style of zipper as in (A), but placed in the garment in a reversed manner. This zipper is placed in the robe at no extra charge and allows pedal room for the accompanist.
Velcro. Velcro closures come in black or white and are placed every six inches down the front of the robe.
Snaps. Snaps at Ireland Needlecraft are also of Brass and are placed every six inches down the robe. Snaps are placed in the robe for a minimal extra charge.
Note: All hardware used at Ireland Needlecraft is brass. Using brass for zippers, snaps, hooks, and eyes you can have the assurance of knowing this hardware is durable and rust proof.
